With over 20-years experience in the housing industry John has rare depth and breadth of knowledge in all aspect of real estate. He has spent over 15 years representing buyers and sellers in Berkeley, Rockridge and Albany and has sold nearly $100,000,000 of local real estate. John has restored (hands on) a dozen homes in Berkeley and Rockridge including an 1894 Queen Anne mansion, several historically notable homes and his residence, a 1904 brown shingle in the heart of Elmwood. Additionally, he has restored several multi-unit buildings, done numerous condo conversions, added 'granny units' to properties and built new, (from ground up) condominiums and rental housing. His experience in construction, design, permit and zoning matters, condominium conversion, and all aspects of renovation and development gives him rare insight into a properties current and future value and use. When working with buyers his extensive background illuminates inspections, reports, and the overall physical condition of a home. John resided in many of the homes he restored living in many of Berkeley's neighborhoods — getting to know each location at a personal level.
John redeveloped, owns and manages investment property including residential rental units in Berkeley. He is uniquely positioned to assess income potential and provide informed, creative guidance regarding land-use and rent control matters.
John has assisted dozens of owners in preparing their homes for sale wisely guiding them in getting "the most bang for their buck" and freely sharing contacts and connections in the building, remodeling and trades communities.
